Director of Sales Job Description


General Summary

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and serving as a key member of the senior leadership team, the Director of North American Sales will lead a growing B2B sales organization to achieve revenue and margin goals and broaden the breadth, depth, and reach of Snow Peak across the North American marketplace. The Director will set strategy, build impactful sales programs and expand the in-house and external sales force to produce rapid and sustained growth of Snow Peak’s wholesale distribution.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Architect a new overarching structure, strategy, team culture and operational processes to position the sales organization for breakout growth in North America
  • Develop sell-in and sell-through strategy and plans for both in-line and new release outdoor lifestyle products
  • Successfully build, mentor and lead a high performing sales team to achieve booking and shipping targets across product categories
  • Track trends across the industry and recommend positioning for inline product, new product development, and distribution strategy
  • Strengthen and expand relationships with existing key accounts and open new sales outlets in both outdoor and lifestyle categories
  • Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership team and other company functions
  • Lead team to develop education, marketing, fixturing, prodeal and engagement strategies to support sell-through with key accounts
  • Review and improve sales operations and customer service protocol to ensure processes and systems are in place to achieve business objectives and support continuous growth
  • Collaborate with senior leaders in brand, digital, and retail channels to ensure sales campaigns are integrated across all customer facing touchpoints
  • Inspire internal teams and external partners to deepen their appreciation, understanding and advocacy for the Snow Peak brand
  • Develop and manage revenue commitments, margin targets and operating expense budgets
  • Direct sales forecasting activities and set performance goals

      Position Requirements

      • Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, or related field experience.
      • Significant (10+) years in progressive leadership roles in sales, preferably within the outdoor industry, including several years in senior leadership roles
      • Proven track record of success in sales across a number of product categories
      • Highly developed salesforce training and coaching skills
      • Strong strategic planning and analytical skills
      • Ability to travel regularly for work
      • Excellent written and oral communication and ability to give effective presentations.
      • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite
