Dealer / Customer Service - West

The Dealer / Customer Service representative is an integral part of Snow Peak by supporting our customers and consumers. This position will be the primary contact for dealers and field personnel providing resources, answers and information through verbal, written and electronic communication channels. This position will address inquiries and resolve complaints, providing a high level of customer support on products or services.


  • Classification: Full Time, Non-exempt
  • Schedule: Weekend work is occasionally required.  This position will travel in support of our sales accounts, events and tradeshows
  • Location: Portland, OR
  • Reports To: Sales Manager

  • Demonstrate a “customer first” mindset and is accessible at all times to ensure every customer has a great experience
  • Interact with customers via telephone, email, online chat, or in person to provide support and information on an assigned product, service, project, or task
  • Ensure that appropriate actions are taken to resolve customers problems and concerns
  • Maintain customer accounts and records of customer interactions with details of inquiries, complaints, or comments
  • Prepare supporting reports for the sales team
  • Use knowledge of a specific product, service, or other assigned area of expertise to answer inquiries or to forward to the appropriate staff
  • Respond professionally and in a timely manner to client requests by phone, fax, mail, e-mail, and in-person.
  • Provide consistent feedback loops to stakeholders on projects and developments
  • Coordinate activities to ensure advertising and sales programs reach targeted customers in a timely and effective manner
  • Notify customers promptly in regards to product availability & delays in shipments  
  • Educate customers on our brand story, product offers, and promotion
  • Provide available sales tools such as imagery, reports, updated price sheets and catalogs 
  • Provide necessary dealer documents for prospective new accounts
  • Travel to in-house accounts performing product educations & sharing sales techniques to store staff
  • Assist with preparing and distributing monthly and special mailings
  • Assist with monthly allocations and sales forecasting by account and by item 
  • Input and manage prodeals and special market orders
  • Maintain accurate Dealer Email List  
  • Responsible for creating and sending weekly ATS report to the sales team (each Monday am)   
  • Responsible for ongoing knowledge of our inventory
  • Contribute to a positive working environment (respectful, responsible and team oriented)
  • Maintain an efficient ordering system and procedure for managing orders
  • Delivers in an effective and efficient manner other duties, responsibilities, and projects as may be assigned including special projects with opportunities to cross train with other departments.


  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 4+ years of experience providing customer service 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including active listening
  • Excellent ability to provide service-oriented resolution for customer needs
  • Excellent time-management, prioritization, communication, and analytical skills
  • Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software
  • Ability to thrive in a fast pace, strong team environment

    • BS or BA degree from a college or university in a related field
    • Experience in the outdoor, retail, or apparel industries
    • Experience in a heavy volume service environment (phone, email, internal communications)


    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
    • Able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
    • Communicate effectively with a diverse audience in person, by phone and by computer 
    • High stress levels may occur
