Camping in Cactus Garden

As the sun begins to set in Santa Monica California, the scene at Mohawk General Store is starting to come alive with lights and party music. It’s a special year for us as we celebrate 60 years of product innovation and lifestyle. With the help of our friends at Mohawk, we've created a unique setting for one month to showcase products and experiences that have served as the foundation of our heritage and story.

Snow Peak has always encouraged people to embrace their nature through spending time with loved ones outdoors. Our special pop up has created an opportunity for people to escape the hustle and bustle and find tranquility in a natural environment. Take two steps off  the sidewalk, and you enter the dreamy Mohawk West cactus garden where every corner of the unique space immediately transports you to a state of peace and serenity.

As you wander through our exhibition, we have featured five unique scenes which highlight and feature all the historical camping gear that our company has been built on for the past 60 years. Sitting in the Lounge Shelter, or around the Takibi fire setting, you can't help but understand our origins and the Japanese camping experience which blurs the lines between home and tent.

To celebrate the opening of this special pop up, our team flew down from Portland to host our opening party and welcome guests to our desert camping experience. Joined by our apparel designer and founder’s granddaughter, Lisa Yamai, the setting could not be more perfect to kick off our month long showcase of Snow Peak past and present.

If you’re in the area, swing by Mohawk West through May 20th and experience Camping In The Desert within this incredible space.
